The Central Virginia Chapter of SCORE will host an introduction to Social Media workshop on October 23rd in Charlottesville. The workshop entitled Learn the 5 W’s of Social Media will be held from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Albemarle County Office Building at 401 McIntire Road. The workshop is part of an on-going series of business seminars offered through the local chapter of SCORE.
The purpose of this workshop is to help business owners understand and better utilize social media to market their products and services, says Tom Weaver, Chair of the Central Virginia SCORE chapter. SCORE offers education, tools, resources and free mentoring to start-ups and small business owners.
The 5 W’s of Social Media will be presented by Candace Schoner, principal of Schoner Communications who will explain: What social media is, who is using it, why it is useful, where is it going, and when to use it. ”As a marketing professional with over 30 years-experience, my goal is to demonstrate why investing time in this growing medium is important for any organization and help small business owners in particular get started using it properly to increase brand awareness and grow their business,” notes Schoner.
