CHARLOTTESVILLE PARKING CENTER FOOD DRIVE

Mar 25, 2013 12:00am - 1:00pm
Apr 1, 2013 12:00am - 1:00pm

The Charlottesville Parking Center (CPC) announced today that it will be holding a food drive to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, an emergency food assistance agency that serves more than 120,000 Central Virginians each month.  From March 25 until April 1, non-perishable foods, canned goods and non-glass items will be accepted for donation at drop-off boxes at any of the three Downtown CPC parking lots, conveniently located on 504 E Market St., 200 E Water St., and 100 E Water St.  Helping the community couldn’t be easier; by bringing non-perishable foods in your car you can help feed the hungry when you park.  CPC wants to help make it easy to help our community.   To make your donation, just look for the easy-to-spot CPC/BRAFB food containers located near each check-in booth.

Last year, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank distributed more than 17 million meals to hungry families across the Blue Ridge, and they expect to serve more this year.  CPC’s goal is to benefit the six Blue Ridge Area Food Bank outreach programs currently in operation.  Four of the programs are focused on children, while the other two are targeted at families and seniors.   With your help, donated food will be brought directly to the people who need it most through these outreach programs.
