STATE TORNADO DRILL

Virginia’s Statewide Tornado Drillis Tuesday, March 12, at 9:45 a.m.To start the drill, the National Weather Service will send a TEST tornado warning that will trigger a tone alert and message on NOAA Weather Radio, simulating what listeners will hear during an actual tornado warning.  This is only a test message and not a real tornado.  But this will be a great time to practice tornado safety! When you hear the test message, go to the center of the lowest level of a sturdy building.  Stay away from windows.  Crouch down and cover your head with your hands.  For more, go to ReadyVirginia.gov
