The African American Pastor’s Council, Charlottesville City Schools, Albemarle County Schools, and the City of Charlottesville will sponsor the ‘Back to School Bash’ at the Sprint Pavilion on August 18, 2018. Previously, any student that registered for the event was given free school supplies and a book bag.Lashema Jackson, whose kids are in the city school system, says the ‘Bash’ was a big help. “With the budget that we have that was very good. They gave out free items today so that helped.” says Jackson. Superintendent Rosa Atkins says it was a community effort to get kids what they need for another year.
